Christmas Day portrait of "Georgia." Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. 25 December 2006.

On the fifth day of Christmas... I'm finally getting a chance to post something! I suppose this could be titled "Global warming Christmas"; instead of getting to shoot fluffy white snow on the holly with my new Zuiko 50mm 2.0 macro lens, it's rain! Alas. But it still looked pretty. Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. 26 December 2006.

It's been very busy at work (surprise!) so I haven't had much time to post anything, much less take any photos! This peace lilly from a trip to New Zealand a couple of years ago will serve as my prayer for peace, until I have a chance to post again..... Coromandel peninsula, North Island. 21 June 2004.

There's a small pond around the corner that has a fountain in the middle of it. As the sun was getting lower in the sky the spray was enough to get me to stop the car and shoot a few pics. All I had with me was a 50-200mm lens, so it's a pretty close up shot. I love the chaos of the water going everywhere, with just the drops in the foreground in focus. 9 December 2006.

In fact, by morning the little snow hats hadn't blown away, they'd just gotten a little top-heavy! Isn't it amazing that it hasn't toppled over? 5 December 2006.

We're in the midst of a lake-effect snow band at the moment and it's producing lots of fluffy snow. Although the light wasn't very good I took this photo at night, because I was afraid that by daybreak the little six inch 'hats' that the berries were wearing might have blown off. Stay tuned-- they may be 8" hats by tomorrow! 4 December 2006.

It really is a color photo! This was taken on my cross-Canada train ride on The Canadien. Manitoba. 17 October 2006.

Remember those berries outside the back door (see the archives for October 28, 2006)? We had a bit of snow yesterday and it quickly started to accumulate on the berries. I love the air bubbles in the frozen drip (as with all these images you can double click to enlarge). 2 December 2006.
